Refurbished iMac for Sale

Which refurbished iMac should you buy?

24-inch Apple silicon iMac (2021 onwards)

The 24-inch iMac with Apple’s M-series chips is thin, quiet and colourful, with a 4.5K Retina display, a 1080p camera and excellent speakers. It is the iMac we recommend for most homes, students and offices, and it carries our 24-month warranty.

27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display

The 27-inch iMac has a stunning 5K screen and plenty of space for photo editing, video, design and spreadsheets. It is still a superb display for the money. Compare the iMac 27-inch Retina 5K (2015) and the faster iMac 27-inch Retina 5K (2019). Unlike most Macs, the 27-inch models have memory slots behind a door at the back, so memory can be added later.

21.5-inch iMac

The 21.5-inch iMac is the budget choice for smaller desks. The iMac 21.5-inch Retina 4K (2019) is the one to choose if you can, with a much sharper screen and faster processors than the iMac 21.5-inch (2015), which suits basic use on a tight budget.

Storage: insist on an SSD

Many older iMacs were sold with a mechanical hard drive or a Fusion Drive, which makes them feel slow. An SSD makes an enormous difference to start-up times and everyday speed. Ask us about SSD-equipped iMacs, or about upgrading the iMac you already own.

Intel or Apple silicon?

Intel iMacs are good value and can run Windows through Boot Camp, but they are nearer the end of macOS support. Apple silicon iMacs are faster, quieter and use far less power, and they will receive software updates for longer. If you are not sure which suits your software, tell us what you use and we will advise.

How much memory do you need?

• 8GB: fine for browsing, email, documents and family use.
• 16GB: recommended for photo editing, music production and running lots of apps at once.
• 32GB or more: useful for video editing, large design files and virtual machines (available on 27-inch Intel models).

An iMac for home, study or business

An iMac is a great family computer and a tidy option for reception desks and offices, because everything is built into the screen. Students get 10% off a range of refurbished Macs, and businesses can order several matching machines.

What is included?

Accessories vary from machine to machine. We will confirm whether a keyboard, mouse or trackpad and power cable are included with the iMac you are buying, and we can supply them if not.

Warranty on refurbished iMacs

Every refurbished iMac includes our refurbished Mac warranty: 24 months on Apple silicon models and 12 months on Intel models, covering hardware faults that develop in normal use. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

Frequently asked questions

Do you deliver iMacs?

Yes. We supply iMacs across the UK, and you can also collect from our Brislington workshop in Bristol by appointment.

Can a refurbished iMac be upgraded?

It depends on the model. The 27-inch Intel iMacs have user-accessible memory slots, and many Intel iMacs can have their hard drive replaced with an SSD. Apple silicon iMacs cannot be upgraded after purchase, so choose memory and storage carefully. See our Mac upgrades page for more.

Can you find a particular iMac for me?

Usually, yes. Tell us the screen size, chip, memory and storage you want, and we will check availability and source it if we can.
