About This Model

The Mac mini M4 / M4 Pro (2024) was announced on 29 October 2024 and went on sale on 8 November 2024, with UK prices starting at £599 for the M4 model and £1,399 for the M4 Pro model. It replaced the M2 Mac mini and was replaced by the M6 / M5 Pro Mac mini in September 2026.

Which Mac mini does this cover?

This guide covers the Mac mini (2024) with the M4 or M4 Pro chip. Choose About This Mac from the Apple menu: the chip will be shown as Apple M4 or Apple M4 Pro.

It looks almost identical to the 2026 M6 / M5 Pro Mac mini, but is much smaller than the 2018 to 2023 models. Check the chip name rather than relying on the case. The power button is on the underside, near the back.

macOS compatibility
